Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin who was born in Wellington but was born and raised in Winnipeg made her acting d but in The Piano. At age 11 she was one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the prize. After she responded to an audition call and was selected for the part, she was cast as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. The actress was just nine and had no prior experience in acting. Her move from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin started her acting career as a child with a part as the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre as well as a major part in Fly Away Home. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
