Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who has managed to cross over from country music to mainstream pop culture, becoming an iconic figure in the pop culture. The singer also swept the entire globe through her music. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer and proved that she is perhaps the best pop-singer/songwriter in her generation. Someone who is able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and also sing in the other direction. Swift's talents could be seen in her earliest tracks, notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless released in 2008 Swift was able to discover her true identity and gain a wide audience. The album was able to have significant appeal not just on the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles due to the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous successes, propelling Swift into the spotlight. The three subsequent albums -- Red 2012 1989 2014, and Reputation 2017 -- Swift's popularity only increased. That was an obvious sign she had moved to a new pop world which she was able to fit into. The popularity of her music grew after she changed her strategy with 2020's pared-down siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
